ELIO takes its first meeting outdoors

Trading the usual venue for open air, ELIO held its first outdoor session, pairing speeches and Table Topics with the Black River Trail's scenery.

ELIO stepped outside its usual walls on 22 June 2025 for its first-ever outdoor meeting, held amid the Black River Trail. President Hannah Toofanee opened the session with a reminder that Toastmasters, much like the trees around the venue, is a practice of growing one speech, one evaluation, and one meeting at a time.

Toastmaster of the Day Dushali kept the energy high, and speakers Miora, Vanshinee, and Geean delivered prepared speeches under the open sky, evaluated by Nikhil, Meetusha, and Rachel. Sawan led a lively round of Table Topics that drew members and guests alike.

Miora was voted Best Speaker, Nikhil Best Evaluator, and Ibraheem Best Table Topics Speaker. General Evaluator Ayushee and Timer Bhavish kept the session on track despite the change of scenery.

As the sun set, President Hannah closed with a thought fitting for the setting: the courage to speak boldly, the humility to keep learning, and the peace that nature alone can offer.
