Before your first visit

Do I have to speak at my first meeting?
No. Guests are there to watch and get a feel for the room. If you'd like to try a one- to two-minute Table Topic, we'll gladly make space for you, but only if you put your hand up.
Are meetings in English or French?
Both. ELIO is a bilingual club: a meeting runs in English and French, and you speak, evaluate and lead in whichever language grows you most. You don't need to be fluent in both to take part.
What does it cost?
Your first visit is free. After that, guests pay Rs 300 per meeting, and membership is Rs 550 a month, with a discount from time to time. Membership is what unlocks Pathways, a mentor, and speaking slots of your own.
How often would I speak, and for how long?
At your pace. We meet two Saturdays a month with around five speaking slots per meeting, and speechathons add more, so you rarely wait long for a turn. Prepared speeches usually run five to seven minutes; your first one, the Ice Breaker, is four to six. Impromptu Table Topics are one to two.
Do I need to book, or can I just show up?
Please book ahead. Fill in the form on this page and we'll confirm your place and send the agenda before you arrive. We meet 2nd & 4th Saturdays, 2:00–4:15 PM at Oficea Meetings, The Pod, Vivéa Business Park, Moka.
Is there a dress code?
There's no formal dress code. Members simply turn up well dressed, a little more so for contests and special meetings. You're on your feet in front of the room, and looking the part helps you feel it.
