Session 119: Courage, new members

ELIO's 119th session welcomed nine new members, and celebrated two members' DTM achievements

ELIO's 119th session, held under the theme ‘What if we were always brave,’ was hosted by President and Toastmaster of the Day Vanshinee Bhirugnath, who led the meeting with energy and warmth. TM Ravina delivered her first speech, the traditional Ice Breaker, earning recognition from the room for the courage it takes to step onto the stage for the first time. TM Kiara Dukhira completed Level 1 of her educational path during the session.

Kiara Dukhira was voted Best Speaker, Ben Best Evaluator, and Paramen Best Table Topics Speaker, in a session supported by evaluators Zayyaan, Melodia, and Ben, timekeeper Jaken, hesitation counter Ajmal, grammarian Faeeza, and Table Topics master Ibraheem. The club also marked the DTM achievements of Madhav Meetarbhan and Hannah Toofanee with refreshments to celebrate the distinction.

During the administrative portion of the meeting, members approved the club's budget and its meeting and activity calendar for 2026–2027. The session also included the induction of Vice President Membership Rachel, led by Division Director Hannah Toofanee, and welcomed nine new members into the club: Arnaud, Faeeza, Michael, Nasseer, Ravina, Zayyaan, Ludmila, Mareesha, and Paramen.
