A new Executive Committee takes the oath

Session 117 combined a masterclass on wellness with a milestone moment: the formal installation of ELIO’s 2026–2027 Executive Committee.

Session 117 was about more than wellness — it was about taking care of ourselves, our club, and its future. Toastmaster of the Day Devina Ghoorah Jevallee led members through "The Recipe to Wellness," covering healthy habits, quality sleep, nutrition, and the importance of respecting the body’s natural rhythm.

The session then turned to its centrepiece: the Installation Ceremony. Under Installation Officer Hannah F. Toofanee, the Executive Committee elected at Session 113 formally took the oath to serve the club for the year ahead. DTM Sariff Mungralee reminded members that leadership is a two-way commitment — officers commit to serving the club, and members commit to supporting their leaders.

Founding President Madhav Meetarbhan shared his vision of "20 Years, 20 Presidents" and reminded the room that ELIO remains the only bilingual Toastmasters club: "We were born different. Let us remain different."

The afternoon continued with speeches from Zayyaan, Jaken, Pranav, and Kamila — Pranav took Best Speaker and Shazia Best Evaluator. The club also recognised members who contributed to the Speechcraft Programme in partnership with JCI, and thanked outgoing Sergeant at Arms Ridhwaan Bundhun for his service.
