Session 114: filling my own cup

A speechathon session at Royal Green Wellness Resort explored self-care and renewal — the idea that we can only pour into others once we’ve nourished ourselves.

ELIO’s 114th meeting took the club to the Royal Green Wellness Resort in Moka for a session built around renewal. President Sewin Sungkur opened proceedings before handing over to Toastmaster of the Day Dushali Jhurree, who led members through the theme "Filling My Own Cup" — a reminder that self-care and growth aren’t indulgences, but prerequisites for showing up for others.

The session ran as a full speechathon, with six members taking the stage: Zayyaan delivered a sincere Icebreaker speech, Ben brought wisdom drawn from experience, Sawan held the room with humour and suspense, Ibraheem spoke with passion and confidence, President Sewin offered an honest and vulnerable address, and Ridhwaan closed the session with clarity.

Sawan was voted Best Speaker and Shazia Best Evaluator, capping an afternoon of reflection, laughter, and — fittingly — a room that left a little more full than it arrived.
